Our Irish and Celtic jewelry collection consists of jewelry made of Sterling silver and lead-free pewter jewelry. The collection includes pendants, earrings, pins, necklaces, charms and bracelets. All Celtic jewelry pieces share the same characteristic which is the Celtic knot. The Celtic knot comes in many varieties and often they are endless. The knots were used for decoration by Ancient Celts These knot interlace patters were influenced by ancient artwork of Roman Empire. Knot patterns were used to decorate Roman floors and mosaics. The key patterns of Celtic designs are key patterns, step patterns and spirals. The intricate, woven patterns used in Celtic arts are called plaids. The same type of ornamentation found its way into Christian symbols, monuments and manuscripts. Christian Celtic crosses have very characteristic Celtic design. According to Irish legends, the Celtic cross was introduced to Ireland by Saint Patrick or Saint Declan. It is said that Saint Patrick combined the Christian cross symbol with the sun cross which, according to pagan beliefs, had live-giving properties of the sun. Please, check out the many Celtic crosses we have in our offer.
